If you live in Dubai and want regular help at home, you usually end up choosing between two options: book a maid by the hour when you need one, or sign up for a monthly maid who comes on a fixed schedule. Both avoid the cost and paperwork of sponsoring a live-in maid. But which one actually costs less? It depends almost entirely on how many hours of help you need each month. Below we do the maths with our real, published prices.
The Two Options in One Minute
- Hourly maid: you book a cleaner only when you need one. Regular Cleaning is AED 30/hr and one-off Maid Service is AED 35/hr, with a 2-hour minimum. If you want the maid to bring cleaning materials, that is +AED 10 per booking.
- Monthly maid: our Monthly Maid Service is a flat AED 2,200 a month for 4 hours a day, 5 days a week, with the same assigned maid. No visa, sponsorship or accommodation to arrange.
What a Monthly Maid Really Costs Per Hour
5 days a week for about 4 weeks is around 20 visits a month. At 4 hours each, that is roughly 80 hours of cleaning for AED 2,200, which is about AED 110 per visit or AED 27.50 per hour. That is cheaper per hour than any of our hourly services. The catch is that you pay for all 20 visits, whether you need them or not.
Side-by-Side: What You Pay Each Month
Here is the monthly cost of 4-hour visits at the Regular Cleaning rate of AED 30/hr, compared with the monthly plan (4 weeks a month, materials not included):
- 1 visit a week (4 visits): hourly about AED 480 · monthly plan AED 2,200 → hourly is much cheaper
- 2 visits a week (8 visits): hourly about AED 960 · monthly plan AED 2,200 → hourly is cheaper
- 3 visits a week (12 visits): hourly about AED 1,440 · monthly plan AED 2,200 → hourly is still cheaper
- 5 visits a week (20 visits): hourly about AED 2,400 · monthly plan AED 2,200 → monthly is cheaper, and you keep the same maid
The break-even point is about 73 hours a month (roughly 18 four-hour visits) at the Regular Cleaning rate. If you book one-off Maid Service at AED 35/hr instead, the monthly plan wins sooner, at about 63 hours a month (around 16 visits).
When an Hourly Maid Makes More Sense

- You only need a proper clean once or twice a week.
- You live in a studio or 1-bedroom apartment that does not need daily attention.
- Your schedule changes a lot, or you travel often.
- You want a one-off deep clean before guests arrive or after a busy month.
When a Monthly Maid Makes More Sense

- You want help every weekday: cleaning, tidying, laundry and bed-making.
- You have children or pets and the house needs daily upkeep.
- You want the same trusted person in your home every time.
- You don't want to book and pay for each visit separately.
Our Honest Recommendation
Count how many hours of help you really need in a normal month. If it is under about 70 hours, book hourly and save money. If you want someone most weekdays, the monthly plan is cheaper and simpler. Many families start with weekly hourly visits and switch to a monthly maid once they see how much help they actually use. Frequently Asked Questions
Is a monthly maid cheaper than an hourly maid in Dubai?
Only if you need help most days. A Natika Maids monthly maid is AED 2,200 for 4 hours a day, 5 days a week, which works out to about AED 27.50 per hour. Hourly Regular Cleaning is AED 30/hr, so the monthly plan becomes cheaper once you need more than about 73 hours a month, roughly 18 four-hour visits.
How much is a part-time maid per month in Dubai?
With Natika Maids, one 4-hour visit a week of Regular Cleaning (AED 30/hr) is about AED 480 a month, two visits a week is about AED 960, and three visits a week is about AED 1,440. A full weekday monthly maid plan is a flat AED 2,200.
Do I get the same maid every time?
On the Monthly Maid Service you get the same assigned maid for your visits, and a substitute with the same task list if she is on planned leave. With hourly bookings we try to send a familiar cleaner, but it is not guaranteed.
Do I need a visa or sponsorship for a monthly maid?
No. The maid is employed by Natika Maids, so you do not handle visa, medical, Emirates ID or accommodation. You only pay the monthly plan price.
