"How often should I actually book a deep clean?" is the question we get asked more than almost any other. There isn't a single universal answer, but there is a solid default, plus a short list of things that push it earlier or later. Here's our actual recommendation, not a vague "it depends."
Our General Recommendation: Every 3 to 4 Months
For most Dubai households, a deep clean every 3 to 4 months keeps a home at a genuinely good baseline without paying for more than you need. This is frequent enough to stay ahead of the buildup that regular tidying can't reach (grout, vents, baseboards, behind appliances) without treating every visit like a first-time move-in clean.
Recommended Frequency by Home Type
- Studio or 1-bedroom, one or two occupants, no pets: every 4 months is usually enough.
- Family apartment or villa with kids: every 2 to 3 months (more hands, more mess, more surfaces in daily use).
- Homes with pets: every 2 months, focused on carpets, upholstery, and vents where fur and dander collect fastest.
- Homes that already get a recurring cleaner weekly or biweekly: every 4 to 6 months (routine cleaning already handles most of the buildup a deep clean targets.
- Rental units before a new tenant or after move-out: a one-off deep clean regardless of the schedule above: see our move-out cleaning checklist for the full list.
What Shifts the Recommendation
A few factors move the number in either direction, and it's worth checking these against your own household before locking in a schedule:
- Cooking frequency: daily home cooking, especially with oil, builds grease film on cabinets and range hoods faster than the average schedule accounts for.
- Allergies in the household: if anyone deals with dust or pet allergies, shortening the interval by a month or two makes a real difference to indoor air quality.
- Number of occupants: more people simply means more contact with every surface, and buildup follows accordingly.
- Construction or renovation nearby: fine dust from nearby work travels further than expected and settles into vents and window tracks well before your usual date.
Deep Clean + Regular Cleaning: The Combination We Recommend
A deep clean and a routine clean solve different problems, and neither replaces the other. We cover the exact difference in standard vs. deep cleaning. The combination that works best for most households: a deep clean on the schedule above to reset the baseline, paired with a regular cleaning or recurring maid service in between to maintain it. Homes on a weekly or biweekly recurring plan consistently need deep cleans less often, because the surfaces a deep clean targets never get the chance to build up in the first place.
When to Book Outside the Schedule
A few situations are worth a deep clean regardless of when the last one was: before hosting a gathering, after recovering from illness in the household, at the start or end of a season when AC usage shifts, or any time you genuinely can't remember the last time it happened, which, on its own, is usually the answer. We cover the symptom side of that question in 5 signs it's time for a deep clean.
